Q. How many startups will you be selecting?

We are looking at up to 10 selected startups per batch. We will focus on the quality and potential of the startups rather than the number of startups.

Q. Is this a one-off program or is it meant to be on-going?

It will be an on-going commitment. We are looking at running two batches a year, one from July-October and another from March-May.

Q. How much equity do you take in return?

We are taking an equity stake of 6% for startups in our program.

Q. Can a single person apply for funding? What do you think would be the ideal team?

While we welcome single founder companies to apply, though we believe that you will have a bigger chance to succeed with a 2-3 founder team. While not always the case, successful teams are able to cover business, technical and design aspects in-house.

Q. Do I have to move the whole team in Singapore?

If most of your team is overseas, it is not necessary for you to move them here to Singapore. However, we strongly encourage the core team of founders to be based here for the duration of the program.

Q. Do I need to have my startup incorporated in Singapore?

In order to take advantage of many of the follow-on grants and funding, we strongly encourage you to incorporate your startup in Singapore. Q. Do you help with the entrepreneurship visa or company incorporation?

Singapore provides one of the World's Best Entrepreneur Visas policies. We will link you up with the relevant authorities to settle your visa. Q. What are going to be the judging criteria for choosing the startups?

We will be analyzing specifically the team ability to execute, the product, as well as the business model.

Q. We don't really need investment now. Does it still make sense to apply?

The S$30K cash grant is only the tip of the iceberg. We are providing much more than funding, such as link-ups with Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) - the dominant player in Southeast Asia's media scene - and access to an international team of mentors from Plug and Play Tech Center.
